The Magic of the Pages

The Angel hummed softly to herself as she trailed the long isles of books, her eyes bright with the prospect of knowledge. How could one not want to know well... everything?

That was one of the things she had not understood in her years of watching. So many of these humans had the opportunities to do... everything.

And yet they wasted it all on... so many things that they should not have. She did not wish to be like her brothers and sisters and judge them.

However, she had just never understood.

Eager to learn, the young girl - for once suddenly acting the age her body looked - squealed with excitment as she found a title that struck her fancy.

Clementine was surprised, as she always was when she found someone else in the library. Unsure of what to both say and do, she decided it was better off to mind her own buisness. And her own buisness was currently the bood in her hands.

With a shrug, she turned a page and attempted to continue reading.

Grinning eagarly, Gweneal, reached up on her toes to pull the heavy tomb off the ground.

Running her hand eagarly over the spin, she could hardly wait to start it. In fact, she did not wait at all.

Pulling the page open, she took it by the first page, unwilling to miss a single bit of it. Engrossed as she was, Gwen began to walk, not bothering thinking if it would be wise or not. She still had her natural Angel grace. She would certainly not trip over her own feet - however, even her own grace would not save her from running into a person.

"Oh my," she breathed, blinking up from her book at the girl infront of her, "I am terribly sorry. It was just so facinating, I could not bare to put it down."

"It's fine," Clementine said with a little smile, "I usually do the same. It's probably mostly my fault, I forget that I'm not the only person who comes to the library..." She laughed uneasily.

Gwen looked around at the nearly empty room, and then back at the girl.

"No one could blame you. It almost seems as if you were," she spoke softly, "Then you too find the written word facinating? There is just so much to learn is there not?"


The Fallen Angel was getting excited, and as such, was not noticing the soft glow that was starting to come around her. It had yet to look like nothing more than perhaps a walk in passing light. If she manged to control it, she could pass it off as such now.

"A lot," Clementine said, nodding, pretending not to notice the odd glow, "The written word tells a lot. Usually, though, I just read for the sake of reading..."

'I really am boring...' she thought as she turned a page again, 'But then again... I'm not changing any time soon. This girl doesn't seem to find me boring, but... I dunno. I'm a socaially awkward turtle.'

"There really is so much! I don't know how anyone could spend a whole life time.... you could spend so many lives learning and still know...nothing!"

Her voice rose, the light around her shinning almost blindingly bright before she blushed, and managed to real it back in a bit, back to nothing more than a faint glow.

"But... you probably do not wish to listen to me gush about... such things. Forgive me."
