Howl, She-Wolf

Aris sighed as he waited for his date, a girl he'd only recently met. Neither had a date to the dance, so they came together. He would have gone alone, but he didn't think it was right to do so when she didn't have a date either.

He looked down at himself to make sure nothing had gone out of place. He wore a simple black tux, a white button up beneath the jacket, and spiffy looking black shoes that he had to return to the shop the next day. Cuff-links that were faintly reminiscent of a pirate's flag kept his cuffs from opening rudely. He wore his regular Native American leather bracelet, replacing the bland brown leather with a green that matched his date. The tree of life charm held tightly to the band so that it wouldn't dangle from his sleeve.

Though he was nervous, he could live with it.

As always, she dared to be fashionably late. She couldn't even believe that her date was someone she had only just met, especially after the awkward introduction they had. But still, she was pleased, as he was completely mind blowingly hot and matched her purse perfectly, although she was not about to tell him that.

Instead, she politely greeted him, and offered him her arm. "You look great", Effy said, admitting him that at least. "We both do." She had to reassure herself that she's able to pull this all through, and pull herself through it all.

Oh God, my thoughts sound like a bad cliche, came to her mind and brought a light, honest smile to her face.

Aris grinned wide as he spotted her. God, she was beautiful. First time they'd met, she'd been crying in a storage room. She'd been nice looking then too, but a mess. Now, she was straightened up and her beauty was maximised. She held out her arm and he hooked his with it.

"Thanks," He nodded a bit. He heard her self reassurance and he chuckled, "Don't worry, you'll be the most beautiful one there." He had no idea of knowing that, but it was a kind offer to help her feel better.

"Shall we go in, then?" He asked, ready to lead her through the door.

Her rather pale cheeks became slightly red when he complimented her, mostly because she spent the last half of hour before the ball looking at her reflection in the mirror, and trying to convince herself that everything was okay with her.

"You are very kind", the girl said, not willing to accept it with a thank you. She rested her arm in his and felt at peace for a moment, her unstable state ruining her good mood a second later. "But I'm sure that no one will be looking at me tonight." Even with all the make up of the world, there were still traces of the red circles around her eyes, and Effy was sure that she wouldn't be making eye contact with anyone tonight, not even her friends. In fact, she tried not to look at her partner either, scared that she'll freak him out, like she freaked herself out.

"Yes, let's do this", was all that she said, with a strong voice and a kind of determination. "Let's go make an entrance."

He kept a smile, though he was confident they would see her. Even if she didn't see the awed looks, he would. He cleared his throat, straightened up and started inside.

The dining hall looked completely different, the usual, already fancy decorations were replaced with fancier ones. He didn't think that could happen! He grinned at everything, "This is brilliant."

She elbowed him in the stomach and giggled distantly. "Whip that smirk off your face mister, if someone's gonna be noticed, it's gonna be you." she started, for the first time in a while, smiling honestly to him. "Everyone's staring at you, not me, look." While she said that, Effy pointed openly to a group of laughing human girls, that kept staring at him, that only looked away when they realized that Effy was telling Aris about them.

"Yeah, it's all beautiful, and oh so red. I can't believe Indrazade let me decorate it all in Moroccan style, but I convinced her that it was the new trend around the world." the girl pointed out, through another giggle. "But the truth is that I love their decorations, and their parties, even though they're not so trendy to everyone."

Aris laughed and shook his head, glancing up at the human girls and scoffing. He smiled down at her again, "Just imagine how jealous they are then, that you're with me and they're not." He didn't like admitting that he was goodlooking. One day, the looks would be ruined because of his temperment during the werewolf change.

He blinked and looked around again, waving with his free hand, "You did all this?" It was really gorgeous, very creative. He'd never understood why the theme had been Moroccan but now he knew why.
