If I Die Young ( Capulet Family, Cladue and Candice)

Rhea's mind was spinning as she followed her older brother and Claude through the halls at the hospital, with it's endless stupidly white walls and too many nurses dressed in ugly white dresses. But she didn't even have time to comment on them. Artemis had been in an accident, that's what the phone call from their mother had said. Their parents would have to take a flight over there but seeing as the school was close enough to the hospitals the siblings had been able to rush over there right away.

Rhea wasn't sure what to do with herself. A part of her didn't even want to be there. She'd never had to deal with something like this before, she didn't like hospitals - she didn't like emotions.

"Theo-" she battled to keep up with her brother's pace - wearing heels and rushing wasn't really working out for her. "Theo, do you even know where we're going?" her voice was shaking but she didn't have time to try to keep it calm and normal. Because honestly, she was scared.

But Artemis wasn't going to die. He was going to be just fine. Right?

Claude had almost been worried that they would want to go without him. These sorts of things were always more 'family time' than anything else, and he wasn't exactly family, as close to them as he was. Only almost though, because he was too busy being worried about what exactly had happened.

From what he managed to gather, Artemis had been in an accident, a car accident or something. He rushed along beside Theo, through the hosital halls. This wasn't a situation that he ever really thought he'd be in.

It physically hurt him to hear the quiver to Rhea's voice. It wasn't often that you actually heard her being scared or worried. It was already hurting enough to just see her. It was taking a lot of willpower not to reach out and hug her to try and make her feel better.

"I'm sure we'll be there soon," Claude said, trying to sound comforting, giving her what he hoped was a natural smile. "Hospitals are big places."

It was as if worrying this much had nass him numb because Theo was barely aware of Claude or Rhea as he matched them towards their destination. Because his twin brother had been in a crash, and Theo, however much he might have liked to have played it down, was scared.

He barely noticed that Rhea did not have as long legs or appropriate shoes (heels were a bitch, Theo knew from experience) and he could hardly hear her speak, though he detected a slight vulnerability he'd never heard before. "I know where we're going," he told her. "The nurse at reception told me." At any other time he might have said "cute" about the goodlooking guy who directed them, but today didn't seem appropriate. As soon as his Dad had called him he had been worrying. He almost regretted antagonising his father earlier on the phone now.

Almost.

He just wanted to see Artie, just to know that he was okay. Was that too much to ask?

The doctor
then walked into Artemis room. “So you must be family or friends of Mr.
Capulet?” She then looked at all three of them and was going to give them news.
“I am Dr. Stone and I will be the one looking at Mr. Capulet. He came in when
he was hit by a drunk driver, it seemed like he was coming back from a fast
food place. Right now he is stable but he is in critical condition. We are
running test now and hoping that he is going to make a full recovery. But now
we are just taking it one day at a time. And it seems that Mr. Capulet has
slipped into a coma, he can hear every word but he is not able to respond. I
think that it would be best if one of you plans to stay with him. Just to talk
with him. But if you all would like to stay I can arrange cots to be brought in
the room for you.” She then looked at them once again. “If you need anything
just find me someone at the front desk and they will know where to find me.” That is when she left the room.




Artemis was
laying there he could hear everything that was going on. He knew that he didn’t
want to die that he had to live for Rhea and Theo.

When they finally got there, apparently to the right room because this doctor - Doctor Stone, asked them if they were family or friends of Mr. Capulet and Rhea highly doubted that there was another Capulet at this hospital right now, Rhea focused her eyes directly on the doctor, not daring to look past her shoulder and at her brother.

With each word Rhea started to shake more and more. When the doctor finally stopped speaking and then left them alone in the room, her first thoughtless reaction was to force her eyes shut.

"I can't-" she started, before sucking down a deep breath. "I'm sorry-I can't stay in here, you guys could stay in here and I'll-I don't-I can't look-" at that her eyes opened and she found herself staring straight at her older brother against her own will.

He was just laying there, absolutely still. In a coma the Doctor had said. Critical condition. What the hell did that mean for him? She was going to be sick.

Half of what the doctor said flew right over Claude's head. He wasn't sure he was absorbing any of it. He vaguely registered 'drunk driver' and 'critical condition', but mostly everything else was white noise. He smiled and nodded at the doctor as she left, before turning his attention to Artemis, trying not to grimace through his smile at his friend lying on a hospital bed.

As soon as Rhea started talking he began to grow more worried however, turning to her and seeing her shake. This was one of her big brothers, lying in a bed in a coma. He reached out for her, resting a hand on her shoulder, unsure what else to do, wanting to cover her eyes and help her unsee what she'd just seen.

"Do you want me to take you to get a drink?" he asked, trying to be as soft as possible, turning to Artemis with a smile. "We could get something for Theo too, all have a drink of something warm while we visit."

Drink-driving. Critical condition. Hit. Theo knew one thing for sure, he would never again be getting in a car when he was a little bit tipsy, never mind the the driver's seat, if he could end up putting someone in the state his brother was in now. Fuck it, not just his brother, his twin. He felt a little bit dizzy as this fact hit him, hard.

He could hear Rhea, but he couldn't quite register that it was her. She was scared, and he wanted to comfort her, but at the same time he had no idea how he could do that when he wasn't particularly sure what to do with himself. All he heard was Claude start trying to soothe his little sister while he could only stare like an idiot at Artemis.

Was he being spoken to? He didn't know. He'd sort of forgotten words. What was he supposed to do or say? "Fuck," he said quietly, before blinking out of his momentary reverie and turning to look at his friend and his sister. "You... you go get a drink, okay? I'll stay with him. You just... I... it's gonna be okay." That's all you can say? What if it wasn't even true? That was a terrible thought. The doctor said it was true. It had to be true.

A nurse then walked into Artemis's room. She then looked at him and was smiling. She was wearing pink scrubs. " Hello Mr. Artemis." Sandy knew that his twin brother was with him. She was glad that his family was here for him. She then turned to him. " Well I have good news the swelling in his brain has gone done. And soon we will start to bring Artemis out of this coma."
Sandy then looked at Artemis and was talking to him. " Soon you will see you family." She then smiled and then walked out of the room.

Rhea tore her eyes from her brother as her head snapped to the side to look at Claude's hand resting on her shoulder. He was saying something about a drink and Rhea tried to nod but she wasn't sure whether or not her head was moving, her eyes stayed focused on his hand. Anything but to have to look at Artemis again.

Fuck, Theo was saying, quietly but she didn't miss it. Theo swore a lot because Theo loved swearing but that tone - that quiet little 'fuck', always the same tone when he didn't know what to say. Not an angry swear, not an happy swear - a confused one and impossibly scary.

It's gonna be okay. Was it? How did he know that?

She felt her eyes start to water as she nodded, this time feeling her head move. "O-Okay." she said simply, looking at Claude's face this time. Drinks were probably a good idea, also it got her out of this room and that's all she wanted at the moment. To get out of there and get a good distraction.

Artemis could feel his finger as they here trying to move. He then heard the voices of Theo,Rhea, and Claude. He then woke up our of the coma. He has remembered the accident but at least he was alive. And his family was in the room with him. And also Claude

Claude nodded at what Theo said, not commenting on it. He wasn't sure what he could possibly say to it. Was he supposed to stay with Theo instead? Theo would be okay, wouldn't he? They were both his friends, no matter how upset he'd been with Rhea, he was here for both of them.

But goodness, her face. It nearly ripped him in half, it was just so hard to look at her and not try more to comfort her when she was this upset.

Glancing back at Artemis, Claude figured it would be rude not to excuse themselves to him as well, even if he was in a coma. He was still there, in the room, being Artemis. He was just sleeping. "We'll be back as soon as we can, Artie. Don't wake up without us!"

God he just didn't know when to stop making jokes, did he?

Theo tried to smile at his sister and his best friend, but it felt extremely strained, and he gave up quite quickly, although what Claude said impossibly made things slightly less awful. There. There would always be some sort of way to cheer them all up, even if it was in terribly non-PC humour.

He waited for them to leave the room and moved closer to Artemis's bed, still feeling sick to his stomach. It was so... so weird. He knew this sort of stuff happened all the time, but he'd never imagined it would happen to them. And he'd never imagined that it would feel like this. He'd never thought he'd feel so...

Wait. Wait one moment. Did he just move? Was he... did he just move?

"Artemis?" he asked tentatively, before making his voice more firm. "Artemis. Art, can you hear me? Art... nur- Doctor thing... Clau-" Well he had no idea who he should call. The soaps hadn't really taught him that well. There was a button that looked promising though. Jamming it hard with his thumb, he continued to repeat his brother's name. He was sure he'd seen him start to move.

How were they both smiling? Rhea wasn't even sure how to work the muscles in her face anymore. Claude was saying something, something that was probably supposed to be funny but Rhea didn't really understand it, something about Artie not waking up - she was probably supposed to laugh. She didn't.

She hugged her arms to herself as she turned to follow Claude out the room, eyes focused on the floor and mouth shut. She wasn't sure if there was an awkward tension between the two of them or if it was just because of Artemis.

Artemis?

Artie's name made her head snap up and back towards the room. Had Theo just said his name? "Did he-" she stopped, grabbing Claude's arm to stop him from walking further. "Di you hear that? He's-Is he-Is he-He's shouting 'Artemis'-" she felt herself shake again. "Is he-He's-" and then she was making a run for it, the earlier problem with her heels completely and utterly forgotten as she rushed to get back into the room as fast as possible, fumbling to pull Claude with her.

"Is he-Is he-Theo is he okay?" Was he more hurt? Was he waking? Was he going to be okay? Was he going to-

Artie could hear his brother screaming his name. But he then
could feel that Rhea had come back into the room. He was still moving his
fingers. He then slowly opened his eyes and seen that he was in a hostipal
room. At least he wasn’t dead. Artemis wanted to say something but was weak, so
everything came out like a whisper. “Rhea, Theo you are here.” He really didn’t
know what was going on but the last thing he remembered was someone hitting his
car. And he knew that Claude had been here.
