Where Rainbows Live

Gweneal walked slowly about the grounds, her gaze looking at everything in muted curiousity. No matter how much time she spent on this planet, how much she was ashamed of why she was still hear, and how she longed to return home, she could never curb her curiousity and wonder at this world.

And it was in places like this garden, looking around the delicate planets, and hearing the sound of wilded life not far off, that gave her pause. It almost reminded her of home. It was different then home, obviously, home was so much more muted, softer than everything here, but both this place and home had that undeniable beauty that came from deep within. It wasn't trying to be beautiful.

It just was.

It was a beauty that Gwen herself contained. Even her fall, could not take that away from her, although she never awknowledged it. She hardly realized she had it. Of course, that was just why she had it.

Brown eyes alight, the girl continued to wander, completely unaware that she was being watched.

It was the third time this week that he got lost in the school grounds. Sure, he was new to this place and all, but his inner navigation system couldn't be that bad, or so he hoped when he tried to get out of some weird garden that he wandered into.

His initial thought was that this is by far the prettiest piece of nature he had ever seen. His second thought was that he died and went to heaven. And then he noticed an angel like figure, a girl with sun in her hair and with eyes so big and bright, like she had 2 marbles on her face.

"Hello", Zephyr said, feeling unsure.

Gwen jumped at the shound of the voice and a soft squeak came out of her mouth, as she turned around to face the boy, her brown eyes wide. In the Heavens she had never startled this easily.

Then again, everyone was so soft spoken, and reserved no one knew how to startle you. She had to admit though, the way your heart raced, it was all rather exillerating.

"Oh my," she spoke softly in a light voice, "I did not see you there."

Her features turned upwards into a kind smile, and she ducked on foot behind the other, bobbing in a slight curtsy, "Gweneal Celestynka. Its a pleasure to make your aquaintence."

When he looked at her again, those big, round eyes stared at him with curiosity and he wondered what went through her mind. He could have sworn that she looked surprised to see him there, but that was expected, this was no place for rendez-vous of any kind.

"It's okay", he reassured her, for no apparent reason. "I just got lost and ended up here. I didn't mean to scare you."

She looked so delicate that the boy was afraid of crushing her if he tries to touch her, so he stayed further away. "Zephyr Lee, yeah, pleasure is all mine."

Gwen shook her head softly, still smiling, "You do not have to be sorry. It is I who overreacted. I am merely not use to..."

She trailed off. What was she going to say, "Not use to humans". THat was not how she wished to start off an interaction. If anything she wished to keep her shame, her fallen status, as hidden for as long as possible.

"I am not use to this area. People, I suppose, here. They are different from what I had formally been use to."

"Are you..." she tilted her head, a frown slowly tugging at her lips as she noticed the distance he seemed to be keeping between them. It wasn't too far, yet it was still rather notable. "I am not frightening am I? I mean no harm, I have no harm to give."

He felt confused. "What are you not used to?" the question left his mouth even before his brain had time to react. "You know, never mind, it's clearly none of my business." The last thing he wanted was to frighten her again, so he let it be, noticing that she changed the topic and inside wondering why it was so.

It came as a surprise to him when she answered his question, but he felt like she wasn't telling the whole truth to him. Still, he was letting her be, although his nature told him not to.

"I'm also new here, to be honest, it kind of scares me that I don't know anyone." Zephyr had that side that always wanted to help people, and it was easy to find some similarities between him and her. Finally, he understood her. "It's all gonna be okay."

Almost laughing frantically, he came forward, taking a spot much more closer to her. "I'm sorry, I thought I was scaring you!" He kept laughing because he now wasn't sure what else to do. "We're both a bit silly, I guess. Everything's fine, I promise."

Gweneal inclinde her head slightly, a smile dancing on her features, "There is nothing wrong with curiousity. Curiousity is how we learn is it not?"

"Are you sure?" she asked softly, suddenly feeling almost... she wanted to rely on this boy for a reason that were... well illogical. Though, he was the first being to offer her comfort in over the year she'd been here. Then again, she had never allowed anyone to see her know she needed...

She didn't deserve comfort.

"How can you be sure... unless you can see the future on me?"

She let out a slight laugh, watching the boy as he had done the same.

"You did not scare me... your appearance startled me, but, you don't seem like you intend me harm, so why should you frighten me?"

He kept his mouth shot, for some reason, thinking that she deserved to be listened to til she decides that she finished talking. At last, he took a moment to repeat everything in his mind, paying much attention to details.

First he fixed his hair. Then he checked out his arms, and most importantly his nails, searching for dirt or something. His clothes looked fine too. Her smile, soft chuckle that sounded like bells or flowers in the rain, convinced him that everything was fine, but he had to ask her.

Finally, Zeph felt brave enough to do so. "My looks startled you in what way?" His voice was unsure, and his hands were trying to fix his shirt, tuck it in more neat, straighten it up even after it was completely straight.

Gweneal frowned for a moment, as she watched the boy fiddle with his clothes, confusion crossed her face, at what he must be doing. Then he spoke, and she chucked again as everthing became clear.

The kind amusement was hard to take off her face, it practically lit up the space - in fact it did light up the space. Although it was slight, and as always Gwen never seemed to notice, her relax posture and postive feelings were letting her inner-self shine through - litterally.

The fallen angel had started to glow.

"You miss understood me, perhaps I spoke... to formal. I did not mean the way you look startled me... only that I did not expect to see, anybody out her, and the fact that you did, took me off guard. I am not use to being off gaurd... where I am from, there is not much to.... where I am from is not like here."
