Vegas Girl [volume 1] Mvkswy

You could say that she was again trying to adjust her position at a normal chair, cause the lack of her massive wings confused her in many things. It was hard to get used to many things on this enchanting planet.

After the wings, came the colors. The second her Creator granted her her so wanted freedom, she got psyched about the change in her robes and hair. The usual white, greeky looking gown turned into a purple ombre of colors and her naturally blonde hair (although she is, what human would call, of mixed race) got braided with multicolor highlights.

If she didn't have the decency to stay calm, she would be screaming at the top of her lungs every time she looked at her reflection in a shiny object. But she was learned how to act properly and control herself at all occasions, so she hid her joy on the inside, and glowed on the outside.

Luxie was wearing the yellow and white 'Vegas Girl' shirt that she got from a tourist girl to cover herself up after she landed on Earth. It seemed that even after she washed it, the material kept the fine, rosy smell of it's previous owner. Her angel dress was so light and almost see through and she shivered from the cold wind that played through her hair, but she was lucky enough to get some help from a random stranger.

That same girl took her to Pemberton. It seemed that she had a cousin taking classes there, and understood what Luxie was, right from the beginning. After the kind headmistress Indrazade accepted her in and she settled in the first room that was only and fully hers, there she got joined by a roommate. The one she've been craving for.

The other fallen, Gwen, was never there with her, and went on her little trips first thing in the morning, and although Luxie never thought that it was all more than a freaky coincidence, to a less naive observer it was obvious that she was being avoided.

One morning, this morning to be precise, she got so bored and couldn't stay in her little palace, as she liked to call her bedroom. For the first time, she was brave enough to go outside and explore the place she choose to live in.

Some strange force led her to a coffee shop, and with the money she got from the school's guidance counselor, she ordered something called a latte. The taste of it made her throat burn from the heat and the bittersweet explosion in her mouth made her giggle.

"This is wonderful", the girl said to the clearly confused waiter. "What is it?" The women tried to explain as she best could, but didn't really understand why Lux was so happy about it. Still, she stood there with her, and kept her company."

Gweneal hovered on the outside of the building, eyes wide and hesitant recalling the last time she had been there. However, this time would be different. She had money today, and there were other things that she could just - just-

Her gaze fell on the the exuberant face of the person drinking out of a cup. She frowned for a moment before her gaze brightened again with recongnition - the darkened with memory.

The other fallen - the chosen fallen. She wanted to be like her.

But Luxielle did not understand what being like her meant. She didn't truly understand at all.

She was going to walk away, walk right back out again, when a thought struck her. Gwen did not want to follow through... but... she couldn't just...

Gracefully - as she did everything - she folded herself into the seat across from her.

She smiled and waved the waitress away as she tried to off her something. Watching the figure retreat she turned to the girl across from her.

"Did you plan on paying for that?"

Her face must have become even more excited when she noticed her sister approaching her from a distance and she literally melted as she took a seat on her table. Watching her with eyes careful and wide as two gigantic saucers, she observed Gwen's every move.

Finally, she replied to her question with such enthusiasm that it caused some poor old guy 3 tables from them to drop his glasses in a plate full of hot soup. "Yes, I already did, look, they gave me money!" Lux pointed out, pushing bills into the other girl's face. "I gave that nice woman one of these, and one of these, and two of these, but she gave them back to me, and took only some round ones", she kept going, joy visible in her every movement. "Why do you think she did that?"

Suddenly she was again concerned, like she worried couple of moments ago, when she tried to pay the bill on her own. "Did I do something wrong? I never really paid attention to those silly little human actions, but they are all very interesting to me now!"

Again, she was vibrating with happiness and blissfulness, admiring a couple on the other side of the room, young folks sitting really close to each other, and looking rather happy while they held hands and whispered in each other's ears. "What are they doing?" Her question was a bit too loud, she had no knowledge or experience in hiding her thoughts from others. It would never occur to her that they were some really bad people on this planet, and that she wasn't safe anymore, like she was in he previous home.

Gwen closed her eyes for a moment. The other young angel was certainly enthusasitc. She remembered when she had looked at everything with that enthusasim, with that wonder.

She still felt htat wonder, but she had learned to curb her enthusasim. Lux had yet to understand just what that enthusasim, what passion, love... hate could make a perosn do.

"You did nothing wrong," she said with ease, her voice soft and calm as always as she looked at the girls money. "She did that because people on earth do not just... give things often. Everything here has a.... value. They transfer that value into money, those things that you have in your hand. You gave her more money than they deemed the item, your drink . So she gave you the rest back. You only will have done something wrong if you take something without giving them money."

Gwen sighed slightly. Did they really send the girl with no knowledge at all. You'd think that they'd have at least...

Then again, she was chosing to fall - what did the others care? If she screwed up beyond belief, they'd just... refuse to ever give her wings back.

"Keep your voice down, please," she said as the others in the small place looked at them, and her own pale face heated with a blush. "They are doing that because... they..." she sighed, an odd tinge coming to her voice, it was almost... well longing wasn't quite right, but... "Because they care for each other... deeply. They love each other."

The way she felt when Gwen spoke and the way she looked at her while she did it, could only be described as a child's affection for their loving mother, complete idolization, infatuation. She stared at her with eyes wide open, hoping that one day she'll be as strong her.

"So, I did that right?", the girl asked through a light chuckle. "Yay, I think I got it, I finally got it! Everyone at school will be proud, they tried to explain it to me more, but I wasn't really listening, I wanted to go out so bad...I guess I'm a little nuisance to everyone."

Her gaze was again on that couple, her thoughts distant, but curious. A sudden flash of energy left her body, and she let out a cry of happiness. This was what she had been longing for all the time, love, and the choice to love somebody as freely as possible.

Lux calmed herself down, and looked straight into the other fallen's eyes. "I want that", she started, lowering her voice. "I spent my whole life, trying to find love, but it was always hidden from, I couldn't see it, but I believed in it. You helped me to keep my faith, and I wanna thank you for that."

Waiting for a couple of seconds, and letting out another happy cry, not calm anymore but ecstatic, Luxie asked Gwen an unexpected question. "Can I hug you? I wanted to hug you since the first moment I saw you, 12 years ago."

"You did alright," Gwen said, a smile tugging at her lips despite herself. The child... she could not help but think of her as such, although to any observers Lux looked no younger than herself, was certainly endearing. "Though in future, listening will perhaps prove to make you feel like less of a Nuissance. I found I learned almost everything I know just by... listening."

She followed the other girl's gaze, her vision clouding over as memories and emotions swirled in around her head. She hardly heard the other girls words, lost in her own thoughts.

"Love, has its... darker sides too," she murumured, a cautions of sorts, though she hardly knew which being she was giving it too. Lux, or herself.

Finally somehting she said drew her attention back to the girl, "I helped you... but I hardly..." she shook her head slightly, more in awe than anything else. If the girl thought she was anything to be envied than she obviously still had much to learn.

"I don't know why..." she blinked her wide brown eyes at her compainion, shocked further still. "I don't understand why anyone would wish too... but if it means so much to you, I suppose... I don't see any reason why you could not. Hug me... that is."
